Make New Animals
Switch Zoo is the center of the site. You can visit nine different
habitats and make new animals in each. While you
play, you can read facts about each of the animals in your current
combination. Learn more about the animals by reading their Profiles in
the Resources section.

Concert Hall
Switch Zoo is home to the only known animal orchestra on earth!
(At least, it's
the only one we know about!). You can hear the animals perform, listen to some
of them individually, and read an interview with the (human) arranger to find
out how the music was created.
The performances include:
Two works by Erik Satie accompany a selection of Ansel Adams photos. This page also features a sound player that lets you hear each animal's voice, and the interview with the arranger.
Fur Elise composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, is performed by a loon, two owls, cat, wood stork and cuckoo. The music accompanies photos of the performers, and the animals' names are displayed as they perform.
Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is performed by twenty-seven animals. This musical Christmas card also displays the names of the animals as they perform.
Also in the Concert Hall, you can listen in on The Sounds of Switch Zoo by using an interactive map. Play the Sound Match game to test your ability to recognize animals by the sounds they make.
